From what I have been told, the following is the “truth”.

- The LOTR stuff was always eventually going to come to something of an end. Anyone who played any “specialist” game that GW have made knows this. The problem really is that a lot of gamers play for the WFB and 40K universe. They don’t much care for the hobbit universe. Especially one that is static, and once the films are done that’s it.

- The Forge World stuff being available over the new GW website isn’t new. Everyone knows this. This is basically throwing in a rumour everyone knows to be true in order to make the more outlandish rumours seem credible.

- The four armies, according to what I have been told, will still be supported, but will be removed from the shelves a little more to help make space for the next new releases. This sort of thing has happened for as long as I remember. There is only so much space in a shop, and they take away the least popular products and make them only available on-line. No one I have spoken to suggested they will be discontinued. Wood Elves are meant to be one of the next army books to be released…

- 30% Will be on-line exclusives. Again, happens all the time. Nothing new. You need to make space in the shops for the next big thing. Nothing to see here. This is a none rumour.

- GW stores in Germany aren’t going to be closed. They are to get their head office removed, but then so to is French HQ being merged with one central HQ here in the UK. This is the result of the profit warning they delivered in their half year financial report. They are scaling back the level of infrastructure.
